Strawberry Shrikhand/ Strawberry infused Greek Yoghurt

Happiness and peace is a state of mind. It is rightly said that whatever you have in your head you feel it in your heart. B says it almost twice a day. He thoroughly believes in it and has successfully passed on his preachings to me. For me there are alot of small, little, unimportant for some kind of things which gives me immense happiness and is enough to lit my smile. I know this is an unusual post for a food blog but whats the harm in getting serious in life (atleast sometimes)!

Big happiness comes in small packets is what I truely believe in. The mere thought of high school days or chilhood pranks makes me happy. Any thought which doesnt make me restless, discontent or has any sort of fear in itself makes me smile.

To go on with my happy list, I am happy waking up in the morning at 6.30 for my baby's school. Hitting the sack in just half an hour works fine for me. I get so excited when my phone vibrates under my pillow in the middle of my sleep...someone just thought of me and wants to get in touch is the best feeling!!! I get happy seeing "sale" boards in those mega stores. I make sure I visit all of them not necessarily making any purchase. I sometimes window shop .... I dont want to miss out on anything they sell! Its beautiful to see a young sapling grow out of a seed I planted a month ago or the winter flowers blossom after weeks of waiting. I love the smell of fresh plants. I dont mind reading a book or watching a movie whose suspense endings I have seen before...:)

Shortening my list, I realize life is filled with satisfying reasons and simple pleasures all around me. It awaits me to be taken care of, experience it and to create a memory in my head and stay happy in my heart. I dont have a barometer to gauge the happiness of my life... But I do know that whatever I have I have valued it the most.

With these happy and simple thoughts I wanted to create a simple and healthy dish which could be ready in a jeffy. Its called Strawberry shrikhand!

Here's what I used:

Ingredients:
2 cups hung yoghurt
4 to 5 fresh strawberries ( washed and pureed)
2 tbsp sugar
Muslin cloth or any clean cotton cloth

Method:
Wash and puree the strawberries and set aside. Transfer the hung yoghurt in a bowl and in the sugar. My strawberries werent so ripe but I couldnt wait any longer so I added a little more sugar. Blend the yoghurt into a smooth paste like consistency.Add just enough puree to give that strawberry flavour in the yoghurt. I like my shrikhand to be thick and creamy.Chill and serve.

With this colourful recipe and joyful post I end the year wishing all my readers  A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!

Happy Eating!!
